Dr. Jenny Yu leads the Bay Area Podiatry Group team in San Leandro, California. She graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with a bachelor’s degree in psychology. She then attended UCLA where she earned her master’s degree in public health (MPH) in epidemiology. Dr. Yu studied epidemics, although not the current one, and began her career in healthcare as a biostatistician. Dr. Yu earned her Doctorate of Podiatric Medicine (DPM) from the California School of Podiatric Medicine at Samuel Merritt University in Oakland. She completed her residency at Saint Mary’s Medical Center in San Francisco, where she managed acute traumatic injuries and complex lower extremity conditions. She also is certified by the American Board of Wound Management and is a qualified medical evaluator (QME). She has served as director-at-large of the California Podiatric Medical Association and was past president of the Alameda/Contra Costa County Podiatric Medical Association, networking and brainstorming innovative and efficient ways to solve problems with like-minded podiatrists in the East Bay community. In her spare time, Dr. Yu enjoys outings with her family, including two daughters who have recently left the nest. She enjoys all types of music, playing the piano, and presently is having fun learning the bass guitar.
